I'm new to the CWG world. Just discovered their music on youtube. I may be your only Catholic fan, but I hope not. Many of my denominational friends aren't sure what to do with me since my recent conversion "to the other side" (and I can understand this), but I love Jesus and my old friends more than ever. Raised Southern Baptist, I have always loved the old protestant hymns. Now as a retired Army Officer I spend much of my time playing guitar for old folks at senior centers and assisted living facilities. Wish I could sing, but I do play pretty decent chord melody, and some jazz inflected arrangements of hymns and old standards. I was floored when I heard their harmonies and arrangements. The guitar and bass work perfectly and blend so well with the voices. No more instrumentation is needed. I can take or leave most Southern Gospel - a lot of it is kind of cheesy and showy in my opinion (no reflection on the performers as good people). This is the only chat room I've chatted on. So it takes a lot to move me to action. CWG my new obsession!
